No account, anonymous by design

SudoCalm never asks for your name, email, or password. When you first visit, your browser generates a random player ID and a friendly display name. That ID is the only identity we know.

What we store on your device

Your game progress, settings, streaks, and badges live in your browser's localStorage and stay on your device. Two cookies are used: a signed session cookie ("sid", 90 days) that ties your scores and hints to your anonymous player ID, and a theme cookie that remembers dark or light mode. Neither tracks you across other websites.

What we store on our servers

Completed puzzle scores (time, mistakes, hints), tournament results, badges, and any feedback you send. This is what powers leaderboards and your profile.

We also collect first-party analytics events: page views and game start/complete events, with a coarse country code (derived from your connection by our host, Cloudflare), the referring site's domain, and campaign tags if you arrived through a shared link. Raw analytics events are deleted after 90 days; only aggregated play statistics are kept longer.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage — pages visited, games started and finished. When enabled it sets its own cookies (names starting with "_ga"). We do not send it your player ID, and we use it only in aggregate. You can block it with any standard content blocker without affecting gameplay.

What we do not do

No fingerprinting, no selling or sharing of personal data, no advertising trackers today. If ads (such as Google AdSense) are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated first — including consent options where required — and ads will never affect gameplay fairness.

Data removal

Clearing your browser data removes your local progress. To have your server-side records (scores, feedback) deleted, send us a request through the Feedback form and we will remove them.
